Umpiring Courses 2022 (An example of how 2022 pre-season training was delivered)
2022 umpiring courses for this year have been moved to a completely online format & can be completed in the comfort of your own home. Unfortunately tea, Coffee and biscuits are therefore not provided.

Stage 1 Umpiring:
This course is designed to give you an overview of the basic Laws of the game and how to apply them and introduce the principles of field craft and match management. It will give you the tools to enable you to umpire matches at the basic recreational level where there are no independent umpires appointed.
- 15th March – 7-9pm
- 22nd March – 7-9pm
- 24th March – 7-9pm
- 29th March – 7-9pm
Stage 2 Umpiring:
(Stage 1 is a pre-requisite to enrol on this course)
This course is designed to give you further knowledge and skills sufficient to enable you to become a member of a league panel and is available to anyone who has attended the Stage One. It will complement that course by looking beyond the basic laws, build on field craft and match management techniques and introduce the concept of working, as a team, with a colleague.

- 5th April – 7-9pm
- 7th April – 7-9pm
- 12th April – 7-9pm
Note: ECB ACO membership & Access NI/Garda Vetting is essential for active NWCU Panel umpires which has an annual fee of £32. Anyone taking part in the stage 2 course in 2022 this membership will be included at no additional fee, to ensure a participant can become an active umpire on completion.
