Women Warriors claim top spot in Future Series qualifier

The North West Women Warriors completed their round-robin Future Series programme at Stormont on Thursday with a 9-wicket win over the NCU; meaning three wins from three outings for Alana Dalzell’s team.

An unbeaten 42 from Mollie Devine, 37 from Sarah Black and 21 not out from Lucy McGranaghan saw the visitors chase down their hosts’ total of 123 all out with plenty to spare.

Two wickets apiece for Alana, Mollie, Lucy Carmichael and Cody Wallace had earlier set the tone as only Aoife Fisher (26) and Ciara Murray (19) made any inroads with the bat in the NCU innings.

The second match between Cricket Leinster and the Ireland under-17’s would dictate who went into the final against the Warriors tomorrow; that match reduced to 20 overs a side and only starting after the Warriors game had finished.
