WHITE HORSE T20 ACTION HEATING UP

With the weather set fair for this weekend there are some potentially entertaining ties down for decision in Week 4 of the White Horse Hotel T20 Cup. Both Brigade and Eglinton head into this phase of matches with 100% records so far; the Beechgrove boys having already cemented top spot in Group D.

Andy Britton’s men will actually complete their programme this weekend as they travel to Killyclooney on Saturday before finishing up with a home game against Strabane 24-hours later. The leaders will be keen to keep their momentum going with the 40-over domestic programme due to start in a fortnight’s time.

Eglinton head to Ballymagorry knowing a win there will leave them long odds-on favourites to win Group A. The villagers have really impressed so far this summer and while many challenges lie ahead, theirs has been a very bright start.

This is shaping up to be the most competitive group of the lot with all teams having won at least once and while Eglinton will be trying to extend their lead, Coleraine will be very keen to avenge that shock defeat at Bonds Glen on the opening day when they play the reverse fixture at Sandel Lodge.

In Group B, St Johnston will hope to finally get a game under their belt when they take on Donemana at Foyle College. There have been several abandoned games in this group so far so hopefully the good weather will give all sides a chance to get going.

Bready and Glendermott served up a cracker at the Rectory a couple of weeks ago and they go again at Magheramason on Saturday. That could easily be the game of the weekend as both sides look to keep pace with leaders Newbuildings.

Gareth McKeegan’s side will be keen to tighten their grip on top spot in the group as they go to Burndennett who are as yet without a win this season.
