Warriors unchanged for game against Lightning
The North West Warriors have named an unchanged squad for the trip to Leinster ahead of Thursday’s T20 clash with Lightning at Pembroke.
Boyd Rankin and Conor Olphert remain sidelined due to injury as Ian McGregor’s men try to bounce back from their narrow 2-run (DLS) defeat to a Paul Stirling-inspired Knights at Bready on Thursday. William Porterfield’s inclusion is a boost for the Warriors given that the Ireland International batsman has been named as an assistant coach for Warwickshire in the upcoming Vitality T20 Blast.
Skipper Andy McBrine will rely on Graham Hume, Craig Young, Stuart Thompson and Graham Kennedy to spearhead his attack against a strong hosts’ batting line-up. Hume and Porterfield along with Ross Allen were instrumental in getting the Warriors to a competitive total last week and a better start on Thursday could make things interesting at Sydney Parade.
Action gets under way at 1.30 pm and hopefully the impending bad weather will be long gone by then to allow a full afternoon’s play.
