Warriors gear up for Knights test
The North West Warriors have made two changes to their squad for tomorrow’s T20 against the Northern Knights at Comber.
Andy McBrine’s men are still looking for their first win of the season but are boosted by the return of Boyd Rankin who missed the first two games due to injury. Brigade batsman Ryan Hunter also makes the 12 having been ruled out due to work commitments last week, with Varun Chopra and Kyle Magee making way. Conor Olphert remains out through injury.
William Porterfield has been able to work his appearances around his coaching committments at Warwickshire and fresh from his classy half century in Dublin on Thursday is a welcome sight on the visitors’ sheet.
The Warriors were narrowly beaten by 2 runs (DLS) by Simon Johnston’s charges at Bready in Match 1 of the series and this renewal looks to be equally tough to call. Paul Stirling was the difference between the teams on that occasion although Northamptonshire are in action on Tuesday, ironically against the Bears, and his absence is certainly a loss for the hosts. The game had originally been scheduled to be play at The Lawn, Waringstown but following a pitch inspection today it has been switched to Comber.
