Warriors Name Winter Training Squad
North West Warriors’ Selectors have named a 20-strong panel for this year’s Winter Training programme, as thoughts begin to turn to the 2023 season.
The squad, many of whom are already back in training, is reflective of what is expected to be a busy programme of Interprovincial cricket over the next 12 months.
There is plenty of full International experience in the panel, however 14 of the 20 are aged 25 or under as the Union looks to develop its new generation.
Head Coach Boyd Rankin said that although the Winter programme was already under way, he was looking forward to building preparations up over the coming months.
“There is a good mix in the group with plenty of experience, and some young up-and-coming guys in there too.”
“A number of them are playing overseas at the minute, which is great for their development, and hopefully those players, and the rest of the squad who have been training from early November, will be in a great place for the start of next season.”
