Warriors name squads for busy ‘Future’ programme

The North West has named its Emerging Warriors squads for this week’s double-header of games against Munster Heat and a MCC Select.

The Munster game is a 45-over contest to be played tomorrow (Tuesday) at North Kildare (11am start) where Graham Kennedy will skipper a youthful looking North West outfit.

Eglinton pair Tommy Orr and Robbie Millar join Scott Macbeth (St Johnston) Raymond Curry (Bonds Glen), Trent McKeegan (Newbuildings) and Strabane’s Tom Harpur as selectors look to give the younger generation a chance to shine.

Reece Kelly comes in as well- he, along with Millar, Orr, Rachit Gaur and Jared Wilson (both Ardmore) making up a quintet of players named in both squads. Bready’s Khyat Bhavsar and Brigade opener David Barr are also on the panel heading south.

Action moves to the Rectory on Wednesday where the Emerging side takes on the MCC in a 40-over ‘red ball’ contest (1pm start).

Graham Hume takes the captain’s armband for this one and as well as the five survivors from Tuesday’s squad, Warriors opener Stephen Doheny is the eye-catching addition.

Kyle Magee, Ryan Hunter and Aaron Gillespie come in to add depth to the order while Varun Chopra and Gregory McFaul complete the 12-man list.

Congratulations to all selected for what should be an excellent couple of days’ cricket.
