Warriors Name Squad To Take On Leinster
The North West Warriors have named a 12-man squad for their busy week of Interprovincial cricket which gets under way with a one-day game against Leinster Lightning at Eglinton on Tuesday.
The two sides will then head to Bready 24-hours later for a 3-day contest and both games could well have a major bearing on the destination of this year’s trophies.
Ian McGregor’s charges will approach both matches with a certain degree of confidence having started their summer on the front foot and it could turn out to be an entertaining week for local spectators.
On the team front, there are few changes to the existing squad albeit there is no Boyd Rankin in the home ranks.
Ryan Macbeth has just recovered from a hamstring injury so he won’t be risked although Davy Scanlon returns having recovered from his back spasms.
David Barr, Graham Kennedy and Aaron Gillespie should all feature over the course of the week as the North West lads look to take things to yet another level against the southerners.
The Head Coach will look to the five International players in the squad to provide the necessary nous as Andy McBrine plots to lower tbe champions’ colours and liven up the second half of the programme.
