Warriors name squad for this week’s IPT20 Festival

The North West Warriors have named a 13-man squad for this week’s T20 Festival as the 2024 Interprovincial series gets underway in Pembroke on Wednesday.

Boyd Rankin’s side has a fairly familiar look about it with the contracted Irish players available for the curtain-raiser, however there is one new face on the trip as Ireland under-19 ‘keeper batsman Kian Hilton has been added to the squad.

With Stephen Doheny, Marcus Poskitt and Hayden Melly all working their way back to full fitness, selectors have brought in Hilton for the T20 Festival, albeit Doheny is likely to feature as a batter only.

Elsewhere it is business as usual with Andy McBrine retaining the captaincy and a familiar look to both the batting order and the attack options.

The North West side start their schedule against the Northern Knights in tomorrow’s second match (3.30) and face Leinster Lightning at the same time on Thursday.

They round off the week with a Friday morning match against the Munster Reds (11am) before making the journey home.
