Warriors name squad for Knights clash
The North West Warriors have named their squad for Thursday’s Rario IP50 Cup game against the Northern Knights at Bready (10.45am start).
There are four enforced changes to the side that lost narrowly to Leinster Lightning on Tuesday with Andy McBrine, Craig Young and Graham Hume all en-route to Lords while Conor Olphert continues his rehabilitation from injury.
Shane Getkate will again captain the side in ‘Scra’s absence with Mike Erlank, Trent McKeegan and Harry Zimmerman coming back in for Thursday’s contest. Gavin Roulston is also draft into the playing group for the first time following his exams.
New caps Ani Chore, Cameron Melly and Cian Robertson all retain their places with Head Coach Boyd Rankin this week explaining how the inclusion of Robertson – on a season-long loan from the Northern Knights – had come about.
“He’s a quality, left arm spinner and with Graham Kennedy opting to remain in Australia, Cian was seen as the perfect replacement for us this summer.
“We’re obviously several bowlers down for the foreseeable future, including Andy, so it’s great to have another good spinner coming into the squad.
“We’re looking forward to working with him and hope to help Cian with his development while he is with us.”
