Warriors announce squad for opening IP50 game
The Warriors will look to put a disappointing T20 competition behind them when they travel to Shaws Bridge on Thursday to take on the Knights at the start of the IP50 Cup campaign.
It’s the only one of the Interprovincial trophies that the North West side hasn’t been able to win yet; runner-up places behind all-conquering Leinster Lightning in 2017 and 2018 as close as they’ve come so far. Head Coach Ian McGregor will be hopeful of a bold showing this time around and has named a similar squad to the one that competed in the T20’s.
Ryan Hunter is back in having been unavailable for the abandoned double-header against Munster Reds last week but elsewhere it’s a chance for the same players to finish this strange season on a high. Hunter’s inclusion will certainly bolster a batting line up that is much better than we’ve seen so far this summer.
Conor Olphert has been able to increase his training programme recently following injury, however the Knights match has come just a bit too soon and hopes are high that he’ll soon be back in contention for the remainder of the season.
Action on Thursday morning gets under way at 10.15 at Shaw’s Bridge
