Strabane Saints set the standard high this season as Megan Moorehead’s women got their first points on the board as they defeat Bready.

Emma Doherty didn’t mess about by picking up four wickets, and four more for Chloe Deans saw Bready struggle in the opening innings as the finished all out for a final total of to 19 runs.

In the second innings, Rachel McCallan helped chase down the runs with nine runs while cameos from Gemma Crumley (6) and Una Patton (1) allowed the Saints to gain the final total in just 3.4 overs.

The bowling honours for Bready went to Steph Wilkinson (6-1) and Emma Kelly (6-0).

Killyclooney Vs Newbuildings

Elsewhere, Killyclooney picked up their first victory after defeating Newbuildings by five wickets.

In the first innings, Mia Smyth faired best with the bat with a fantastic score of 30 and with a 50 run partnership with Hannah Mitchell (11) helped the visitors post a final total of 70 runs.

Best with the ball, was youngster Cody Wallace by picking up three wickets while Rachel McBrine also pitched in by picking up two wickets.

Wallace also was of the top order as she made 15 while Ashley Lynch (14), Rachel McBrine (14*) and Jacqueline Hall (13*) each contributed to chasing down the runs in just 15 overs.

In the bowling department wickets for Mia Smyth (9-2) and Alicia Campbell (9-1) looked to have given Newbuildings real hope but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be.

In the final game, Burndennett travelled to take on Eglinton.

Batting first Eglinton got off to a superb start with Zara Craig posting an unbeaten score of 34 and with a half-century from K McCartney (53*) helped the home side finish with a notable total of 128 for 4.

Picking up the wickets for Burndennett was skipper Julie Logue (5-1) and Nicola Arbuckle with figures of (9-1)

Burndennett wasted no time in chasing the runs with Logue posting a triumphant 53* runs while Nicola Arbuckle (21) and Karen Hazelett (24*) each done their bit in chasing down the final total in just 12 overs.
