Two NW School & Club Coaches Announced
The North West Takes On Two New School Coaches
The NWCU is pleased to announce the appointment of two new highly club-focused coaching roles. Bobby Rao and Barry Scott will start work with the Union next week as School and Club Development Coaches. Both positions will run until the end of August 2018 and are being supported through a combination of sponsorship income and grant funding.
NWCU General Manager, Peter McCartney, was delighted with the appointments:
“The Union’s principal focus is to increase the number of active players in our clubs and to assist clubs in their youth programmes. The new coaching roles will have a major emphasis on not only introducing cricket to a broader audience in schools but supporting our local clubs in their youth playing structures throughout the summer. Both coaches will be heavily involved in blitz days, summer camps and create valuable links between school and club.
They will allow us to build on the excellent work already being done by our Development Officers, Brian Allen and Colin Manson, and it’s great to get in coaches of the calibre of Barry and Bobby to support them.”
