Southerners beat North in NW Women’s 40-over game

The NW Women’s 40-over game at Strabane Park on Sunday ended in victory for Molly Devine’s Southern XI as they beat a Northern Select by 34 runs.

Sarah Black was by some distance the pick of the batters as the Southerners made 114; the Fox Lodge player with an excellent 39 of those.

Charley Scott, Sophie Killen and Kaylee Barnard picked up two wickets each for the bowling side who were unable to chase down the target.

Charley top scored with 13 while Steph Wilkinson added 12, however two wickets each for Kacey Laird, Lucy Thompson and Emma Macbeth steered the match the Southerners’ way.

Credit too Chloe Deans who picked up 1-6 from her very accurate four overs that helped keep the reply in check.
