Six NWCU Girl’s named in Ireland Squads
In a further boost to the Women & Girl’s Programme, six NWCU girl’s have been named in various Ireland Squads for 2020.
Alana Dalzell and Zara Craig have both named in the Cricket Ireland Academy Squad whilst Chloe Deans and Lucy McGranaghan have been named in the U19 Squad. There was further good news at U15 Level with Alice McLaughlin and Kaylee Barnard both selected.
Alongside their Warriors weekly skills and S&C sessions, the players will train weekly at Bready CC under the guidance of Warriors Head Coach Ian McGregor. The girls will also attend monthly performance sessions with Cricket Ireland in North County.
NWCU Women & Girls Cricket Development Officer, Kathryn Rough, was delighted with the news:
I’m delighted for the girls and also their clubs. Over the past few years we have really started to invest in our Women & Girl’s Talent Development Pathway and it’s great to see six of our players being selected.
It’s a real credit to not only the hardwork of the girls but also their clubs and our own NWCU coaches.
