SION MILLS CRICKET CLUB FRUSTRATED BY YET ANOTHER ATTACK

The North West Cricket Union wishes to put on record our disgust at yet another attack on Sion Mills CC which has seen the club’s equipment hut and mowers destroyed in an overnight fire.

Sion have been battling hard to keep cricket alive in the village despite a spate of attacks in recent years and we have been in touch with them this morning to pledge our continued support. Sion remain to this day the North West’s most successful club in terms of senior trophies and we applaud the stance of Simon Galloway and the members there who have done everything in their power to keep the club alive in difficult times.

Work will continue between the NWCU and Sion Mills CC to ensure that they get all the help available to recover from this latest setback, and indeed to look to the future.
