
Saturday round-up in the North West
There were two double-header T20’s in the Faughan Valley Cup this afternoon starting at Coleraine where the Bannsiders and Strabane “tied” their match as both team scored 76-9 in their allotted overs.
The bowlers were on top at Sandel Lodge as Ryan Gallagher and Mark McNulty claimed 3 wickets apiece after Matthew Hutchinson had taken 4-28 and Stephen Hutchinson 3-7 as the points were split.
Coleraine lost their second match to Brigade by 7 wickets after Dominic Madden had made 39 in their 111-8. David Barr top scored with 37 and Iftikhar Hussain made 35 not out as the visitors won easily.
Ballyspallen lost their two games as well- Irosh Samarasooriya with 41 not out and 4-13 as Bready won the early game there while Mike Erlank hit 47 and Simon Dunn claimed 4 wickets as Eglinton took the spoils in the afternoon match.
Ardmore beat Fox Lodge by 20 runs in the Championship- half centuries there for Peter Harrigan and Jason Milligan while Burndennett are going really well too following their 8-wicket win at home to Newbuildings.
David Lapsley hit 78 and took 3 wickets and Kevin Martin added 70 as the Saints scored 342-7 at the Glen. Ewald Roberts made 92 not out for the Bee Gees but it wasn’t enough.
