Saturday round-up

It was a busy day in the North West with some telling performances, starting at Beechgrove where Eglinton ended Brigade’s unbeaten league run with a 115-run win. Andy Millar’s half century and runs from Lee Ritchie and Richard Wylie got the villagers to 203 and Brigade could only manage 88 in reply. With two games to go the league leaders still need 7 points to be sure of the title.

Coleraine could be about to pull off a Houdini escape at the bottom and after taking 25 points off Bready last time, they did the same to Glendermott today. 54 not out for Graham Hume got Coleraine up to 169-8, and then 5 wickets each for the South African and Stephen Hutchinson saw the Rectory boys all out for just 32.

Marcus Poskitt’s 80 helped Bready beat Ballyspallen by 83 runs- no luck for Graham Kennedy who made 45 and also took 5 wickets for his side.

Andy McBrine’s 28-ball 60 and 51 from Bilawal Iqbal got Donemana to 250 against Strabane with the Red Caps only managing 108 in reply.

In the Championship, the Bee Gees got a league win as they chased down St Johnston’s 149 to win by 1 wicket and congratulations to Ardmore who won the Sammy Jeffrey final. Jared Wilson top scored with 47 in Ardmore’s 221 with Trent McKeegan picking up 5 wickets for Newbuildings.

Conor Brolly also got 5 for the Bleachgreen team as Newbuildings were all out for 64 in reply.
