Saturday round-up

In the Premier Division, Brigade are now just one win away from clinching the Premier Division title after an 8-wicket success over Coleraine. 6 wickets for Ryan Macbeth saw the Bannsiders dismissed for 79 and the home side had little trouble chasing those down.

79 wasn’t the lowest total of the day though- Bready skittled for just 66 at home to Eglinton- a result which all but ends their hopes of retaining their title. Three wickets each here for Mattie Mills and Lee Ritchie with Tommy Orr making 33 as the villagers won by 9 wickets.

Strabane posted a very valuable win at home to Glendermott- 75* and 3 wickets for Aaron Gillespie and 4 wickets and 37* for Chathura Peiris after Keshan Wijerathne made a half century for the visitors, but it was nowhere near enough.

Levi Dougherty’s 60 along with runs from Gary and William McClintock got Donemana close to Ballyspallen’s 240 all out, but it needed a valuable 34* from Dean Mehaffey late on to earn a 2-wicket win. 81 for Brendon Louw and 60 from Graham Kennedy got the visitors up to their decent total.

In the Championship, Scott Macbeth made 59*, as St Johnston hammered the Foxies by 9 wickets, but it is Burndennett who set the pace- Marty Mehaffey with 81 and Eddie McGettigan 71* as they beat Bonds Glen. That’s 9 wins out of 9 now for Mark Mooney’s team with three games to go.

Killyclooney beat Newbuildings by 101 runs-Andre Henry with 112 and William Finlay 96*, half centuries from Darnell McCallum and Mark Hannah not enough for the home side.
