Reserve dates added for Qualifying League Finals

The NWCU have announced reserve dates for all Qualifying League finals due to be played this weekend.

Due to weather forecasts and the expected impact of Storm Francis reserve dates will be set for all Qualifying League finals. These dates will be set by the NWCU over the coming weekends if games are not possible this weekend. The Qualifying 3 semi-finals this weekend will be decided by way of bowl out, with a reserve date set for the final.

Peter McCartney, NWCU General Manager, explained the additional dates:

“Similar to the Senior T20 cups we have looked ahead at the forecast and the amount of rain expected over the next few days. Unfortunately this may mean a number of finals could be rained off.

With such a short season we felt it was important to try and schedule in a reserve date for all finals. With the amount of finals being played and a tight schedule this summer, reserve dates are only possible at the finals stage for these competitions.

It’s been a challenging summer but we are trying to be flexible around fixtures and get in as many games as possible with youth, women’s, representative and men’s fixtures all to consider. To be going into the last few weekends with almost 20 finals being played is a credit to hard work of our clubs and the desire to get back to playing cricket again.”
