Post Christmas – Coaching Opportunities
The North West Cricket Union have plans in the new year to assist new and current coaches to upskill themselves whilst building the capacity of their clubs
The program will assist in getting coaches qualified and appropriately upskilled in coaching pre-requisites such as First Aid, Safeguarding, whilst incorporating specialised workshops like video analysis and creating positive environments to name a couple. It is a program delivered in partnership with Derry & Strabane Council in a Peace IV program which in turn restricts the clubs who can take part to reside within the Derry & Strabane council area or in Donegal.
The aims of this program is to enable clubs to build their capacity and generate increased levels of active club coaches. By focusing on club coaches we hope to make a participants first step into the club welcoming, fun and appropriately challenging with our coaches being perfectly placed to greatly influence this.
Clubs who register 3 or more coaches that successfully complete 80% of the program will receive up to £1,000 coaching equipment with the coaches who take part getting kitted out in appropriate coaching gear to keep for themselves.
At this stage we are collecting expressions of interest before we finalise the program, please register your club & coaches here
Note: the program is likely to take place every 3rd week between February & September
