NWCU Playing Review

The North West Cricket Union will shortly be undertaking a complete review of its playing structure, processes and regulations.

Review Panel

The review will be carried out by an appointed panel who will submit their proposals to the NWCU Board for consideration. The final proposals will then be presented to clubs at a special convened General Meeting in the New Year.

Given that the NWCU has now decided the structure of the senior leagues for the 2020 season, we are aware that proposed changes to those divisions will only be considered for 2021 onwards. It should be noted however that proposed changes to rules and regulations may be considered with immediate effect.

Review Process

To allow for player and club engagement the review process will have three main stages:

–          Feedback from clubs and associations

–          Players online survey

–          Club Discussion Forums

Club Feedback

We are now starting our initial phase of club feedback. To ensure that all clubs have a chance to contribute to this review we are inviting suggestions for discussion and content from relevant clubs and associations.

The Union is keen to give everyone a chance to contribute to this project. We would however respectfully ask that proposals are submitted through clubs or associations in order to give structure to the process. This would mean that if a club has several points to submit, they are sent together at the same time.

Any proposals should be emailed to review@northwestcricket.com by the Monday 4th November.

The main areas we want feedback from clubs on are:

  • Adult league and cup Structures
  • Youth league and cup structures
  • Women and Girls Cricket
  • Social Cricket
  • Rules and Regulations

Players Survey and Club Forums

A player’s online survey will also be issued shortly to ensure the voices of players continue to be heard and the game of cricket continues to evolve. Dates and details of club forums events around the NWCU will also be announced shortly.
