NWCU confirms new Warriors Selection team

The North West Warriors selection committee is set to meet this week to name their 16-man panel for the 2021 Interprovincial campaign.

The appointment last week of Gary Wilson as the new full-time Head Coach and Pathway Manager has certainly initiated something of a sea change in the region and both coach and captain will also be on the selection panel.

Wilson, along with Andy McBrine and Bobby Rao will join current members Mark Olphert and Marshall Kilgore to make up a five man selection committee. The latter will chair the group and report back to the Union’s Board of Control in his role as Director of Elite cricket.

It is certainly a positive move by the NWCU and many will also be delighted to see Bobby Rao back as part of the process.

The first full 16-man squad will be released by the North West in the coming days.
