NW Review Committee to meet clubs in January

The next stage of the potential restructuring of domestic cricket will take place early in the New Year when the Review Committee will present their recommendations to local clubs on 8 and 9 January. The panel are now finalising their draft proposals and will hold two meetings- the first at Eglinton on the 8th and again at Fox Lodge the following evening at which they hope to get the go-ahead to take the findings to the Board of Control later in the month.

The committee were heavily guided in their approach to the review by the online player survey which attracted well over 200 replies. Their considerations included among other things, earlier start times in senior leagues, coloured gear, promotion and relegation from the top two divisions, T20 competitions in all leagues, women’s cricket, youth structures and a seeding process in the senior cup.

The invite for the two January meetings are to team captains at all clubs- i.e 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI skippers etc, plus one senior club representative.

invitations will be sent to club secretaries in the coming days.
