North West Women’s League

It was back to all the action this week North West Ladies league with only 2 games down for decision.

Strabane Saints v Fox Lodge

Strabane Saints kept up their winning ways with an 11 run victory over local rivals Fox Lodge.

The Saints batted first and posted a modest total of 118. Best with the bat was Anji Porter (42*) and skipper Megan Moorehead 15* while the bowling honours went to Sarah Black with fantastic figures of (19-3)

In reply, the Foxies got off to a flying start with a 55 run partnership between, Sarah Black (14) and Molly Devine (37*) pushed the total to just 70 off the opening 10 overs.

Once Black was dismissed in the 12th over the Foxies failed to get the reminder runs and finished on a final total of 107 off 20 overs.

Due to excellent the bowling from Chloe deans (14-2) and Rachel McCallan (34-1), allowed Strabane to pick up yet another victory.

Burndennett V Bready

In the final game, Burndennett recorded another win against Bready this past Monday evening.

Batting first Bready’s start wasn’t ideal by losing three of their top five batswomen in the opening five overs due to the precise bowling from Nicola Arbuckle (10-5) and Maria McGettigan (10-4).

Things started to look up for Bready with Alana Dalzell (9) along with Steph Wilkinson (3) helped push the total to 28 off 10 overs.

Once Dalzell was dismissed in the 13th over, an Australian native, Maddie Campbell (2) then helped steer the visitors to end with a final total of 40 runs.

In reply, Maria McGettigan’s unbeaten 14 and Leanne Brandon with 10 helped Burndennett gain the final total in seven overs to pick up a 9-wicket victory.

After the game skipper Julie Logue said:

‘’I am delighted to have achieved yet another victory to keep up our unbeaten streak. My girls played extremely well and I am so proud of them this evening.

Bready fought hard to the very end and gave us such a great match, we look forward to play our reminder of league games in the 2018 season.’’
