Monday night wins for Bready, Eglinton and Fox Lodge

Bready and Fox Lodge have moved clear at the top of the Women’s Premier League after both posted big wins in Monday night’s league programme.

The current champions proved far too strong for bottom side Newbuildings as Millie Spence hit an unbeaten 79 (12 fours) and Alana Dalzell added 68 not out in a superb stand of 147 as Bready racked up 181-1 batting first.

The visitors stood no chance from there if truth be told, Mansi Bhavsar with 3-3, Kaylee Barnard 2-10 and Jodie Spence 2-20 as Newbuildings managed to claw back just 51 of their revised DLS target of 194.

The Foxies beat Coleraine by 7 wickets at Ballymagorry courtesy of a solid showing with the ball.

Eva Gaston’s 37 was by some way the best of the Bannsiders’ 77-7 with Kara Bates (3-10) and Lucy Neely (2-6 from 4 overs) doing the bulk of the damage.

Mollie Devine hit an unbeaten 44 and Sarah Black 17 as the hosts won comfortably.

Eglinton are third following an impressive 9-wicket win at Strabane Park.

Chloe Deans top scored with 30 not out and Kylie McGarrigle added 17 with Alice McLaughlin claiming 2-17 as Strabane posted a total of 92-4.

Arianna McKenna played very well for her 40- sharing in an 86-run stand with Jenni Jackson (32*) as the villagers went home with the points.
