Macbeth stars in NW Under-17’s win

The North West under-17 Boys posted an emphatic 8-wicket win over their Munster counterparts at Templepatrick this afternoon in a game shortened by rain.

Ryan Du Plessis made 42 and Sunil Gautam 26 as the Reds set 160-8 from their 45 overs with two wickets apiece for Scott Macbeth and Gavin Roulston.

More rain in mid-afternoon saw the target revised to 122 from 27 and an excellent unbeaten 78 from Macbeth (7 fours, 3 sixes) broke the back of the chase.

Roulston weighed in with 22 as the North West lads won cosily.
