Lisneal College make winning debut in Schools’ Senior Cup

Lisneal College cricket team made their own little piece of history today when for the first time in the school’s history, a 1st XI from the school played- and won- a Schools’ Cup match after a 5 wicket victory over Sullivan Upper GS.

Bowling first, three wickets for Lewis Campbell, two for Rio Oxley and further wickets for Sam McClintock, David Guy and captain, Lealand McElwee, saw Sullivan dismissed for 108 inside 25 overs.
In reply Lisneal took just 15 overs to reach the required target, thanks largely to a well-made 60 from Charlie Simpson, who shared an excellent 90 run partnership with skipper McElwee.
The win sees Lisneal progress to the quarter finals where their opponents will be decided by a new draw early next week and we look forward to following their progress.
