Strabane, Fox Lodge and Burndennett Go Through To the Second Round of Ladies Cup.

Fox Lodge Vs Newbuildings

Fox Lodge set the tone in the first round of the cup as Hannah McLaughlin’s women got through to the second round with a 9-wicket victory against Newbuildings.

Batting First, the Foxies got off to a phenomenal start as Emma Allen faired best with the bat with an unbeaten score of 102 and with a 150-run partnership with Sarah Black (93), along with 38 runs from Mollie Devine steered McLaughlin’s side to post a final total of 257.

In reply, Newbuildings fought hard to chase down the colossal total but with a 75-run partnership from Kelsey Laird (46) and Leanne Riddles (23) helped the total push to 80 off the first 10 overs.

With a change of the bowling from K Bates (4-12) and Laird’s dismissal in the 12th over, Newbuildings struggled to achieve the final total and finished all out for 100 runs.

Strabane Saints vs Killyclooney

Elsewhere at Strabane Park, Strabane Saints picked up yet another victory after defeating Killyclooney by 7 wickets.

Losing the toss and put into bat, Killyclooney got off to a steady start with Ashley Lynch (13), and Rachel McBrine (8) helped push the score to 34 off 8 overs.

Once Lynch and McBrine were dismissed in the 14th over, it now was the task of Gail Nelson (7) and Rebecca McBrine (5) to keep putting runs on the board.

With accurate bowling from skipper Megan Moorehead (9-3) and Chloe Deans (12-2), the visitors finished on a final total of 64 all out.

In response, the Saints wasted no time by chasing down the runs in just 13 overs due to fantastic batting performances from Denise McDonald (21) and Anji McPorter (36).

Burndennett Vs Bready

In the final game saw Burndennett play host to local rivals Bready.

Batting first Bready got off to a superb start with Vee Buchanan posting a score of 25 and with a half-century from Alana Dalzell (50*) helped the home side finish with a prominent total of 103 for 6.

Picking up the wickets for Burndennett was skipper Julie Logue (7-2-1) and M McGettigan with figures of (9-1)

Burndennett wasted no time in chasing the runs with an unbeaten 70 runs from Julie Logue and 10 runs Nicola Arbuckle helped the hosts chase down the final total in just 15 overs.

Best with the ball from Bready saw Steph Wilkinson pick up 1 wicket for just 14 runs off her 4 overs.
