Getkate returns to Warriors squad ahead of trip to Cork

The North West Warriors have named their squad for Thursday’s IP Cup game against the currently unbeaten Munster Reds at the Mardyke (10.45am start).

Shane Getkate returns to the visitors line-up for the first time this season following his hand injury as the Warriors look to bounce back from their unfortunate DLS defeat to the Knights at Bready last week.

That’s the only change to the squad who will attempt to put the brakes on PJ Moor’s team who have already beaten both the Knights and Leinster Lightning in this year’s competition.

Andy McBrine’s men have yet to get off the mark themselves but will feel that the return of all-rounder Getkate will give them good options with both bat and ball against the leaders.

William Porterfield and Stephen Doheny look set to continue their partnership at the top of the order with the skipper at Number 3 and a solid middle order hoping to make the 12-hour round trip prove worthwhile.

The visitors have also kept faith with Trent McKeegan and Scott Macbeth and look to have good options in attack for what is sure to be a difficult game.
