Get Involved: North West Umpiring & Scoring

Umpiring & scoring can be great fun! The North West Cricket Umpires & Scorers Association, in partnership with the NWCU, are launching a new plan for 2020

  • A recruitment drive for new Umpires and returning Umpires
  • New courses for Stage One and Stage Two umpiring
  • New social experiences and workshops for Umpires and Scorers
  • Mentoring for new umpires
  • New courses for Scorers including online scoring workshops

Leading NWCU and International Umpire, Roly Black, is just back from the ICC Qualifiers in Dubai and he explained why cricket lovers should get involved:

Our umpires & scorers are involved first and foremost to enjoy it. Its also a great way to give back to the club and the game, whilst having the best seat in the house.

Our aim is to have 2 umpires at every game in the Premiership and Championship, and ideally Qualifying 1.

However we are now at a critical point and without an intake of new and active umpires we will struggle to fulfil even Premiership games.  It is likely that in 2020 and beyond clubs will have to umpire many games in each of these leagues for themselves. So now’s your time to get involved.

The NWCU are opening opportunities for more umpires or scorers to get involved and no matter your experience get started here
