Frustrating defeat for Under-15 Girls

A youthful NW u-15 Girls side came up an agonising 9 runs short against the NCU at Campbell College in this afternoon’s 35-over Interpro contest.

Batting first, the NCU girls posted 143-8 with Emily Calvert and Erin Bond both making 34.

Mansi Bhavsar picked up 2-16 and Tanisha Hussain 2-26 with Ella Wasson, who still has a year left at Primary School, claiming 2-17.

While the target was substantial, the visitors looked to be well in charge after a 58-run stand between skipper Millie Spence (28) and Hannah Skinner (21) got them to 102-3 in reply.

A flurry of late wickets, and three run-outs gave the NCU girls back the initiative however with Lucy Ly (2-10 from 6 overs) helping get her side home with little to spare.
