Fox Lodge and Coleraine on the move after Monday night wins

Fox Lodge took advantage of Bready’s inactivity on Monday evening as the Ballymagorry side went top of the Women’s Premier League following a 9-wicket home win over Eglinton.

The villagers batted very well to post 107-4 from their 20 overs with the top three batters looking particularly impressive. Zara Craig hit 3 fours in her even-time 46 before being bowled by Elle Moore, while both Arianna McKenna and Jenni Jackson played their shots in scoring 22 apiece.

Lucy Blair fared best of the home bowlers with 2-20 while Elle and Kacey Laird were the other wicket-takers.

Despite the competitive total, the Foxies were always in complete control of the reply. Sarah Black top scored with 30 before Mollie Devine (29*) and Lucy Neely (26*) wrapped up an emphatic victory.

Coleraine are up to third and the Bannsiders are finding a bit of form at the right time with a bloodless win at Newbuildings.

Amy Caulfield hit an unbeaten 61 and Rachel Johnston 26* as the visitors chased down the home side’s 107-4 with 9 overs and all ten wickets to spare.

Skipper Laura McGarrigle made 23 and Saffarah Mitchell 23 not out for Newbuildings with Eva Gaston (2-19) the pick of Coleraine’s bowlers, however it was to be plain sailing for the north coast team.
