First Round Draw Made for Sports Hub Senior Cup

The draw has taken place this evening for the first round of the 2023 Sports Hub North West Senior Cup. The event was held at the Dublin base of the competition sponsors and was made by Ireland under-17 and North West players Charlie Scott and Alice McLaughlin.

Holders Fox Lodge will start their defence of the blue riband trophy away to a Bonds Glen team who really impressed on their way to winning the Championship in 2022.

Letterkenny will be making their first appearance in the competition and the Donegal side have been drawn at home to last year’s beaten finalists and current North West league champions Newbuildings.

Donemana and Brigade are two of the names many supporters look out for first in the draw and the Holm team were the first ones out of the hat with a tie against Burndennett.

Andy Britton’s men are on the road first up as they head to the Roe Valley to take on Ballyspallen.

Bready and Strabane have plenty of cup history between them and Davy Scanlon’s side will welcome their neighbours to Magheramason as they look to go back on the trophy trail.

Glendermott have been making strides on and off the field recently and the Rectory side travel to the north coast for their first round match against Coleraine.

Eglinton have home advantage over St Johnston while Ardmore will go to Killyclooney in the two remaining ties.

The draw in full is-

Coleraine v Glendermott
