Emerging Warriors win season finale to tie NCU challenge
Tommy Orr led the Emerging Warriors to a 5-wicket win over their NCU counterparts at Bready this afternoon to level the end-of-season challenge at one win apiece.
The Eglinton ‘keeper/batsman has been in excellent form throughout 2022 and hit 8 fours and a six in his 93 not out as the hosts chased down the Knights’ 200 all out.
Orr received solid support from Raymond Curry who added 57 in a 112-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Cade Carmichael had top scored with 40 for the visitors with Aditya Adey and Jack Beattie both making 27 before late runs from Carson McCullough (33) and Cian Robertson (23) helped them to their respectable total.
Aaron Heywood (3-36), Sam Kincaid (2-17) and Josh Wilson (2-26) all bowled well for the North West side.
Adam Kennedy (3-39) was the pick of the NCU attack but it was Tommy Orr’s day as his runs saw the series levelled.
