Emerging Warriors undone by Lightning Bolts

The Emerging Warriors found the going tough against Leinster Lightning Bolts at the Bleachgreen on Wednesday in the first of two ‘CI Future Series’ games scheduled for this week.

Ardmore man Harry Zimmermann captained the home side in this T20 contest and he also top scored with 31 in a total of 128-7.

Gavin Roulston chipped in with 25 and Tommy Orr 21 with Mikey O’Reilly (2-26) the pick of the visitors’ attack.

Adam Rosslee hit 63 not out from just 30 deliveries (5 fours, 4 sixes) as he and Swapnil Modgil (57) rattled off 109 of the 129 required in the first 10 overs.

Josh Wilson (2-21) escaped most of the melee; but the Bolts were emphatic in their victory.

The sides meet again on Wednesday at the same venue (10.45am) in a 50-over contest.
