Emerging Warriors squad named for this week’s Future Series in Belfast

Selectors have named a 17-strong Emerging Warriors squad ahead of this week’s Future Series matches being played across the NCU.

Harry Zimmermann will skipper the North West side which, while along the same lines as earlier in the season, also includes one or two fresher faces for the four match round-robin T20 series.

Some players have limited availability for the week, hence the longer list, and that includes Glendermott’s Ben Mills on the back of an impressive season personally at the Rectory. The all-rounder is only available for the Tuesday game against Lightning Bolts at Belmont (3.30 pm) and Wednesday’s match with Cricket Ireland Academy at Stormont (10.45 am).

Coleraine’s Marcus Poskitt is available for Thursday’s double-header against Munster Heat at Belmont (10.45 am) and against the Northern Knights at Middle Road, Carrickfergus (3.30 pm).

Bready bowler Conor Olphert also comes in for those two matches as his return from injury continues to be managed.

Ryan Clarke, Sam Haslett and Sam Kincaid are included again while Donemana opening bowler David O’Sullivan and St Johnston opening batter and wicket-keeper Jack Macbeth have been given the nod after impressing at club level in the first half of the season.
