Emerging Warriors lose out to Munster Heat in Future Series

An inexperienced Emerging Warriors side lost out by six runs in this afternoon’s T20 match against Munster Heat at North Kildare as the 2022 Future Series headed towards its conclusion.

The North West side looked to be in control early on, having put the Reds in to bat and reducing them to 53-6 courtesy of wickets for Harry Zimmerman (2-24) and Josh Wilson (2-28).

James Bell, Stuart Kennedy and Nathan McGuire were also on the mark before Eshan O’Sullivan (44*) and Cian Egerton (25) helped the Heat push on to make 134-7 from their set.

Scott Macbeth made 30 and Tommy Orr 19 in the Warriors’ reply but Egerton with 3-26, Ryan Joyce (2-14) and O’Sullivan (2-29) saw to it that wickets continued to fall regularly.

Ardmore’s Zimmerman was to be the last hope for Boyd Rankin’s charges, but needing just six to win with the last pair in the middle, he was run out for 33 as he tried to keep the strike.
