Emerging squad named for Knights fixtures

The Emerging Warriors have named their squad for this week’s Future Series matches against the Emerging Knights at Stormont. The teams will play a 50-over game on Wednesday 28th and a T20 on Thursday 29th, with both matches starting at 10.45am.

Ardmore’s Harry Zimmermann will captain the team on both days; indeed the only change for Boyd Rankin’s charges is that Brigade’s Cameron Melly will come into Thursday’s T20 squad to replace Marcus Poskitt who plays in the 50-over contest.

The one new face is Pierce Ryan who has been training with the Warriors and playing in the domestic T20 tournament with Bready. The teenager is a new ball bowler who although currently based in England has ambitions of moving here next season as part of his cricket development plan.

Selectors have been slightly hampered by unavailability due to work commitments, but it’s clear that the games will be seen as good preparation for players with plenty of Interprovincial cricket still to be played this summer.
