Eglinton and Fox Lodge to contest Women’s Senior Final
This year’s senior women’s final will be between Eglinton and Fox Lodge after both came through tough semi-finals last night against Strabane and Coleraine respectively.
These two sides met in the 2020 final- indeed Fox Lodge will be appearing in their fifth consecutive decider having won the first three and losing out to Bready in 2021.
The villagers have been improving steadily this year and posted a competitive 116-8 at the Park. Zara Craig made 28 and Alice McLaughlin 22, while there were a couple of wickets each for Megan Moorhead, Chloe Deans and Nicola Mullen.
The Red Caps just never got going in reply although Chloe battled hard to keep them in it as she made 20 not out.
Lucy Carmichael was excellent with the ball; figures of 3-10 for her as Eglinton progressed.
The Foxies have had to do it the hard way this year and while they certainly got a break from the rain on first round night, they have made no mistake since.
Rachel Johnston made 19 and Chloe Torrens 12* as the Bannsiders were restricted to 72-6 in their 20 overs; two wickets here for Sarah Black.
The same player was among the runs in reply as well- Sarah hitting 3 fours in her 24 with Hannah McLaughlin adding 13* in a comfortable win.
The final will take place at Strabane Park at the end of the month.
