Brigade win Faughan Valley Cup
Just four days after picking up the NW senior cup, Andy Britton was on the winner’s podium again on Thursday evening as Brigade beat Killyclooney by 7 wickets at Ardmore to lift the Faughan Valley trophy.
The Tyrone side’s innings was dominated by Blayde Capell who made 40 (7 fours) and Kenzie Hall (35)- no-one else getting into double figures in a total of 107-9 from 20 overs.
David Barr returned stunning figures of 4-11 from 4 overs as he also picked up his second man-of-the-match award this week with Scott Macbeth chipping in with 2-17.
With the weather closing in, Brigade had to keep the board ticking over in case DLS was required and Adam McDaid (32*) and Iftikhar Hussain (30) did just that.
Fair play to ‘Clooney they never took a backward step, with skipper Timmy Dougherty himself sending down an excellent 4 overs to finish with 3-20.
They just didn’t have the runs to defend however with McDaid and Cameron Melly (25*) seeing the Beechgrove side over the winning line with plenty to spare.
