Bready win under-13 cup final
Bready and Newbuildings braved the elements at Eglinton on Wednesday night as the Magheramason side claimed the under-13 cup with a 37-run victory over their gritty neighbours.
Suresh Kumar was the star of the show for the winners- 7 fours in his 62 not out in a total of 134-5, an innings that won the young opener the Player-of-the-match award.
Zak Loughlin added 22 before being run out off the final ball of the innings, while Adam Allen (2-17) was the pick of the Newbuildings bowlers.
Blake McKeegan top scored with 24 in the reply and wickets fell regularly after that- the highlight being a stunning catch from Millie Spence to remove the dangerous Lewis Pearson.
A great win for the young Bready team but in truth an excellent effort from both sides in dreadful conditions. Well done one and all.
