Bready win title in undefeated league campaign
Bready Women were presented with the senior league trophy at Magheramason on Monday night and the Magheramason side duly celebrated with a 9-wicket win at home to Eglinton.
Arianna McKenna made 27 (2 fours) and Rea Moore 11 as the villagers made 56-3 in their weather-reduced 10 overs; a wicket apiece for Charley Scott, Alana Dalzell and Sophie Killen for the hosts.
Bready wasted little time in knocking off the runs- skipper Dalzell with 3 sixes and 2 fours in her 37 not out as the target was reached in less than six overs.
Lucy Carmichael claimed the one wicket to fall without conceding a run, but that aside, the night was about Bready who retained their title without a league defeat all year.
In the night’s other match, Fox Lodge won by wickets at Strabane Park.
Batting first, the Red Caps made 75 with Hazel Britton making 27 and Lucy McGranaghan 18.
Lucy Neely was best with the ball with 2-21 and the senior cup winners were well up to the task in reply.
Hannah McLaughlin top scored with 25 and Sarah Black finished a good season with 16 and despite two wickets apiece for Emma Doherty and Chloe Deans, the visitors won by 5 wickets.
