Bready to meet Waringstown in Ulster Plate final

Bready will play Waringstown in the final of this season’s Ulster Plate after both came through Sunday’s semi-finals with little or no fuss.

Gavin Roulston hit 7 fours in his 60 at the top of Bready’s order as the Magheramason side posted 221 at home to CIYMS II’s.

Dean McCloskey added 37 and James McKillop 29 while Adam Maitland (3-39) and Patrick Dorrian (3-47) were best with the ball for the visitors.

The NCU side looked well in the game early in the reply, courtesy of 51 from Nathan Burns and 40 from Jed Dornan but Marc Fleming (3-25) and Matthew Collum (2-9) managed to keep them at arm’s length as their innings closed on 175.

Waringstown will provide the opposition in the decider after they accounted for Donemana by 9 wickets at The Lawn.

The Holm side scored 176 with Gary Boyd top scoring on 48 and Joe Robinson making 42.

Rory Bessell’s 6-23 really put the brakes on Donemana’s effort with the bat, and an unbroken second wicket partnership of 130 between Lee Nelson (79*) and Shane Burke (60*) saw the hosts cruise through to the final.
