Bready pip Coleraine in thrilling under-13 Girls final

Bready’s Girls claimed the under-13 Cup on Monday afternoon as they edged out Coleraine by just a single run in a nail-biting final at Eglinton.

Jodie Spence and Corinne Young both made 17 not out as the Magheramason girls recovered from a shaky start to make 77-3 from their 15 overs.

Connie Block was the pick of the Bannsiders’ bowling as she claimed figures of 2-8 from 3, and the same player was also involved in the run out for the other wicket to fall.

The north coast side managed to stay well in touch throughout their reply- Zoe Wilmott making 11 not out and Connie adding 8 at the top of the order, however some good bowling from Millie Spence (2-13) kept Bready just in front.

By the time their 15 overs were up, Coleraine had reached 76-3- going down by the slightest of margins in a really sporting and entertaining final.
