Bready, Coleraine keep Women’s title race alive

Bready continue to lead the way in the North West Women’s Premier League after the Magheramason girls extended their winning run with an 8-wicket win over Strabane up at the Park.

Chloe Deans top scored with 8 as the Red Caps were bowled out for 37; Vanessa Buchanan (3-10), Stephen Wilkinson (3-12), Cody Wallace (2-1) and Charlie Scott (2-12) doing the damage with the ball.

Abbie McKnight made 11 in the reply and despite Chloe taking 2-8; Bready had no trouble rattling off the required runs to make it five wins from five.

Coleraine continue to keep pace and the Bannsiders recorded a facile 9-wicket win at home to Eglinton.

Zara Craig top scored with 20 as the villagers made 53-9; Sophie Bourne (3-15) and Kia McCartney (2-3) best with the ball for the home side.

Amy Caulfield (23*) led from the front as the north coast side needed less than 9 overs to seal the win.
