Bready, Coleraine and Fox Lodge with Monday night wins
All three games in this week’s NW Women’s League went ahead as scheduled on Monday night as Bready continued their impressive start to the season, while improving Coleraine and Fox Lodge also recorded victories.
An unbeaten half century from Jemma Rankin helped keep the Magheramason side’s winning run going after Strabane Saints had caused them early problems. The visitors were well in the hunt, reducing Bready to 30-4 early on before Rankin’s unbeaten 58 (5 fours, 2 sixes) helped by Abbie McKnight (19) and Rachel Hepburn (14*) saw them through to 131-6 from their 20 overs.
Kylie McGarrigle with 12 was best for Strabane in reply as they finished on 71-6; two wickets apiece for Jemma and Sophie Killen in a solid performance from the leaders.
Coleraine proved too strong for Killyclooney at Sandel Lodge- the visitors batting first here and making 77-3 in their 16 overs. Chloe Nixon made 17 and Coady Wallace 16 with Chloe Torrens taking 2-16.
The Bannsiders made light of the chase to win by 9 wickets- Eva Gaston top scoring on 34 and Kia McCartney retiring on 29 not out.
The Foxies had a similar margin win at Eglinton with Rea Moore making 17 and Arianna McKenna 14 as the home side made 69-5 from their 20 overs. Mollie Devine took 2-6 for the visitors who then chased their target down with Emma Allen (36 not out), Lucy Neely (18 not out) teaming up to secure the impressive win.
