Bready and Fox Lodge with Monday night wins
It was back to league action for the senior women’s teams on Monday night with Bready bouncing back from their cup defeat by Fox Lodge on Thursday to maintain their winning streak in the title race.
The Magheramason girls recorded a comfortable 8-wicket win over Strabane with a couple of excellent performances in the game.
Chloe Deans was in great form for the visitors, scoring 42 of her side’s 71 all out (8 fours) and then bowled her four overs for just 8 runs (and a wicket) as Bready chased the total down easily.
And there was a stunning effort from Charley Scott too- she picked up 6 wickets for 12 runs as Strabane struggled with the bat.
Kaylee Barnard made 30 not out (4 fours) for the home team while Cody Wallace also scored 30 (4 fours) to ensure their side stayed top of the table.
Fox Lodge had a comfortable 42-run win over Eglinton at Ballymagorry.
Sarah Black made an unbeaten 61 (6 fours) and Lucy Neely 33 as the pair shared their second century partnership in two weeks (128). The last one was an unbroken stand and this one would have been as well but for Lucy being run out off the final ball of the innings.
Lucy Carmichael top scored with 20 in the villagers’ reply of 86 with Sarah Black and Lucy Neely both claiming two wickets apiece to add to their impressive night.
Credit too Jamee Patricia McCauley who flew back from Amsterdam for the game and bowled an excellent spell- conceding just 10 runs from her allotted overs.
