Bready and Fox Lodge to contest Women’s senior final

The two teams who have dominated the Women’s competition over the past five years will meet in this season’s cup final after Bready and Fox Lodge posted comfortable wins in Monday night’s semi-finals.

The Foxies have definitely held sway in this particular competition having won the trophy four times in the past five years with the Magheramason side winning the one in between, and it is likely to set up a cracking decider between them next month.

Fox Lodge went through after a very convincing performance against a young Coleraine side.

Connie Block top scored with 18 not out with Jessica Meates making 15 and Hannah Skinner 14 in the Bannsiders’ total of 78-6.

Lucy Blair (2-7) and Tanisha Hussain (2-17) were best with the ball for the home side with Elle Moore and skipper Bates the other wicket takers.

Openers Sarah Black (38*) and Lucy Neely (28*) did the rest between them after that, as Fox Lodge needed less than 10 overs to seal their place in the final without losing a wicket.

Alana Dalzell made 64 and Charlie Scott 28 not out to help Bready to 129-2 in their 20 overs against Eglinton.

Villagers’ captain Arianna McKenna hit 33 at the top of the visitors’ order, but support elsewhere was thin on the ground as the reply closed on 65.

Sophie Hamilton bowled an excellent spell of 3-7 from 4 overs, with Jodie Spence equally impressive with 3-13. Cody Wallace also chipped in with 2-17 as Bready won comfortably.

There was one league game with Bonds Glen winning by six wickets at Strabane Park.

Lucy Thompson returned stunning figures of 7-10 with Jessica Cooke picking up 3-10 as the Bee Gees dismissed the Red Caps for 20.

Chloe Deans claimed 2-6 in the reply as the visitors lost 4 wickets themselves before sealing the points.
