Bolts too strong for Emerging Warriors
Alistair Frost’s unbeaten 71 was the catalyst for an impressive win for Leinster Lightning Bolt’s on Monday at picturesque Drummond as the Dublin side tightened their grip on the Future Series.
Frost and Rory Anders (38) put on an opening stand of 77 before the Malahide batsman was joined by Fionn Hand who smashed 4 sixes and a four in his attacking 35. Gavin Hoey completed a destructive effort with the bat from the visitors as he hit 21 not out from just 7 deliveries as the southerners made 176-2 from their 20 overs.
Gregory McFaul (1-22 from 4) fared best with the ball for the Warriors but their reply was soon in trouble. Skipper Kyle Magee hit 4 fours in his 18 before unluckily playing on; however it was a bit of a procession after that with Robbie Millar’s 16 the only other contribution of note.
Anders claimed 3-11, Hoey 2-3 and David O’Halloran 2-9 as the hosts were all out for 84 on a day when the Bolts were just too hot to handle.
